CelebNSports247.com has just got word that the 76ers who have just issued an apology to Sevyn Streeter after they blocked her from singing the National Anthem this week over her “We Matter” shirt.

Yesterday, we told you that Sevyn Streeter was scheduled to sing the national anthem, but says team officials nixed her performance because she was wearing a “We matter” shirt.

The R&B singer told The Hollywood Reporter:

“I’d say two minutes before we were about to walk out … the organization told me that I could not wear my shirt while singing the national anthem at their game. I was never given any kind of dress code. I was never asked beforehand to show my wardrobe.”

Now the Sixers posted this official apology which reads as follows:

“We are sorry that this happened.”

“After receiving feedback from our players, basketball operations staff and ownership group, we believe that the wrong decision was made, and Sevyn should have been welcomed to sing.”

“We apologize to her, and in an effort to move the conversation forward, we have reached out to offer her an opportunity to return and perform at a game of her choice. We are waiting to hear back.”

TMZ Sports previously reported, several players were upset with the decision, voicing their concerns to management following the game.

Instead Sixers fans got Desiigner, which they BOOED off the court.
