See, Jerry Richardson was exposed for sexual harassment like many men in entertainment, but wait until you his his antics and that Diddy, Colin Kaepernick and Steph Curry want in. Read on about the Carolina Panthers for sale…
Over the weekend, Jerry Richardson released a statement announcing his plan to sell the Panthers, Richardson didn’t reference the allegations against him:
“I believe that it is time to turn the franchise over to new ownership. Therefore, I will put the team up for sale at the conclusion of this NFL season. We will not begin the sale process, nor will we entertain any inquiries, until the very last game is played. I hope everyone in this organization, both on and off the field, will be firmly focused on just one mission: to play and win the Super Bowl.”
Richardson is also allegedly guilty of using racial slurs when speaking to an African-American scout for the Panthers. The scout subsequently received a confidential settlement and left the team.
Having Diddy, Colin Kaepernick and Steph Curry buying the team would be historic, but will the league let the all black trio buy the team without a white face in the group, that’s really the question. No matter how many black men “OWN” a huge stake in the NFL, NBA, MLB or network, know one thing, there is always a white man in the mix. Usually the white guy, or as everyone in the US calls it, “The Money” takes a silent partner space and lets Diddy or someone like Jay Z be the face to promote the brand and let American’s believe it black owned. #smokeandmirrors
Immediately following the announcement, hip hop mogul Sean Combs, best known as Diddy, Brother Love, Puffy and more, announced that he was interested in purchasing the franchise.
Brother Love took to his social media stating:
“This picture was taken back in 2003. This is God’s work. It’s time!! ATTN all @NFL owners, it’s time for diversity!! It’s time for Black ownership!! The time is now. Let’s make it happen!!”
He later stated on video that his first course of action would be to sign Colin Kaepernick to his team. Kaep heard about it and quickly took to social media and stated he wants in on buying the Panthers.
Colin is NOT the only athlete who wants in on the history making move. North Carolina native and Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry also announced his intentions of wanting in on the possible deal with Diddy.
Despite all that Richardson has done for the Panthers, bringing them into the NFL in 93, to receiving a statue in his honor in July 2016, its time for change.
Good luck to whoever ends up buying The Carolina Panthers. Maybe Diddy can bring in his Revolt owners for this venture.
