CelebNSports247.com has just learned that Sacramento Kings point guard Darren Collison was arrested “on one count of inflicting corporal injury to a spouse or cohabitant and two misdemeanor bench warrants of driving on a suspended license,” according to CBS Sacramento.

We got word that the Kings said in a statement Tuesday which reads as follows:

“We’ve been made aware of the situation.”

“The Sacramento Kings condemn violence of any kind. We are gathering additional information, and once all facts are known, we will take appropriate steps.”

According to CBS Sacramento, Collison was formally charged under California Penal Code 273.5, and the domestic violence charge is a felony. If the 28-year-old is found guilty, he would face two to four years in a state prison, up to one year in a county jail, a fine of up to $6,000 or a combination of a fine and jail time.

During his second season with the Kings, Collison averaged 14 points, 4.3 assists and one steal per game while shooting 48.6 percent from the field and 40.1 percent from three-point range across 74 appearances. According to Spotrac, the seven-year veteran is slated to earn a shade over $5.2 million next season before he becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2017.
