BITES: Dion Jordan Era ENDS in Miami; Broncos Aqib Talib Gets Off Scott-Free

CelebNSports247.com has learned that the Dion Jordan era in Miami is finally over, since he failed the Dolphins physical examination.

DE Dion Jordan was waived/injured on Friday, which helps the team reportedly recoup $3.225 million of cap space for the upcoming NFL draft.

Hopefully, Jordan can straighten up his life now. He may have been the No. 3 overall selection in the 2013 NFL Draft, but he has been on the sidelines for almost a year and a half. Suspensions have kept Jordan from all of just 26 career games, with the league banning him twice in the 2014 season and for all of the 2015 campaign

Dion was found him in violation of their substance abuse policy. Not only that, Jordan also underwent a meniscus procedure last off-season and briefly did join the team during their off-season training program. But there was one setback, he gained a considerable amount of weight and didn’t look as fast as when he was drafted.

The Dolphins could address defensive line with the No. 22 overall selection in the NFL Draft.

Over in Denver, the Broncos has basically given Aqib Talib a free pass.

The Broncos “don’t believe” their top cornerback will be suspended by the NFL for his June 2016 firearm incident, according to 9News’ Mike Klis.

Klis learned the league office was still investigating and predicted they’d likely ban Aqib Talib, citing the personal conduct policy and the polarizing corner’s checkered history.

Apparently, that isn’t happening for Aqib Talib. In June 2016, Talib suffered an accidental, self-inflicted gunshot wound to his right calf outside of a Dallas nightclub. He was immediately hospitalized.

Talib’s lawyer revealed his client indeed shot himself, confirming the results of a criminal investigation. Last October, Dallas Police announced no charges would be filed against Talib and that the case was closed.

Now the ball is in the NFL’s court! What will they do?

This past season Talib played in 13 games for the Broncos last season, after avoiding surgery on the wound. He also tied for he team lead in interceptions (three) and grading out as the league’s second-best cornerback, per Pro Football. Denver appears content to carry Talib’s baggage and $12 million salary cap figure for 2017.

New coach Vance Joseph has already declared his intention of keeping Aqib Talib in place. Joseph said in February:

“I don’t want to lose any great players. Talib’s a top five corner in the league so until we have to deal with that issue, we won’t. He’s under contract, he’s ours, and he’ll play for us.”
