Draymond Green Attends Wedding Then Gets Arrested

CelebNSports247.com has learned that Draymond Green was in Michigan attending a friend’s wedding located in East Lansing.

Draymond has roots there since he attended Michigan State University, but according to MLive, Green slapped a taunting fan, citing a source. The incident apparently took place at Conrad’s Grill in downtown East Lansing restaurant area early Sunday morning.

The owner and general manager, Chris Sonie said:

“No one saw what happened…He came in and ordered food and took off.”

Green has been a customer at Conrad’s since college, according to owner Joe Conrad. Though, Green was booked for assault at 2:28 AM Sunday. The arrest stemmed from an incident in downtown East Lansing and resulted in no injuries, according to East Lansing city attorney Thomas Yeadon. The maximum penalty Green could face if found guilty of the assault charge is a $500 fine and/or 90 days in jail.

Yeadon told MLive that police were not called to the scene but were instead already on the scene where the incident occurred.

Yeadon said:

“This is fairly common for a college town.”

Online documents released Monday afternoon confirm Green was arrested for assault on Sunday morning.

What do you think about Draymond Green being arrested? None us know what actually happened between Draymond and the fan he allegedly slapped. If it was a fan asking for an autograph and Green being an ass then he’s wrong. But if the fan was foul and Green was pissed by what was said, getting slapped is not the worst thing that could have happened.

No matter what Draymond Green has everything to loose and the fan does not, so he NEEDS to be smart and not react because some fans are trying to get slapped.

A statement released by the Warriors Monday read:

“We are aware of news involving Draymond Green in Michigan over the weekend. At this point, we are collecting information and will have no further comment until we have a better understanding of the situation.”

Green, 26, is scheduled to represent the United States in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, later this summer. A spokesman from USA Basketball told MLive that the organization “is aware of this news” and has no comment at this time on his status with the Olympic team.
