Basically, he is just heading back to where it all started for him.

Callaway served as the Indians’ pitching coach before becoming Mets skipper and failed to lead the team to the playoffs in two seasons.

He was fired at the end of this past season and will remain on the Mets payroll for one more year according to the NY Post.

The former Mets manager will serve as the Angels’ pitching coach under mentor Joe Maddon, The Post’s Joel Sherman on Saturday confirmed.

Callaway was 163-161 in two seasons with the Mets, who are still conducting interviews to find his successor.

Maddon, who parted ways with the Cubs after this season, was named manager of the Angels earlier this fall.

The news on Mickey Callaway was first reported by MLB Network.
