Khabib Nurmagomedov + Conor McGregor Suspended

What should’ve been a historic night for the UFC as Conor McGregor made his much-anticipated return turned into a black eye, an unruly fight and lots of a drama?

Following Nurmagomedov submission of the Irish superstar, Khabib tossed his mouthguard, scaled the cage, and attacked a member of McGregor’s crew as chaos erupted. Then, members of Khabib’s crew jumped into the cage and attacked McGregor. It was a mess at the UFC 229 fight at the T-mobile Arena.

Now, both MMA fighters are being suspended for their antics. Conor may be the only one who is NOT guilty of brawling after the fight since he was down on the floor.

CelebNSports247.com has learned that after talking trash to Conor, Khabib Nurmagomedov turned his attention to a member of Conor’s crew and got into a heated fight.

That decision proved costly as Khabib Nurmagomedov’s UFC 229 guaranteed pay is being withheld by the Nevada Athletic Commission, pending a “full investigation,” executive director Bob Bennett.

The incident ignited a wild brawl, including members of Nurmagomedov’s team jumping into the Octagon and attempting to attack McGregor.

Nurmagomedov was set to make a guaranteed $2 million purse, plus more from the event’s pay-per-view revenue. Though, McGregor, who was attacked by members of Khabib’s team inside the Octagon, was paid. Conor made $3 million for the fight.

The problems don’t stop there for Khabib Nurmagomedov or Conor McGregor.  We have just received word that now, both MMA fighters have been suspended.

BSO reports:

McGregor and Khabib have been suspended for 10 days. A full investigation is forthcoming with longer suspensions and fines, but I’ve been told likely won’t be more than 6 months. UFC won’t be issuing any punishment.

Thoughts?

Do you think that is fair?
