We just got word that Seattle Mariners catcher Steve Clevenger SUSPENDED for the rest of the MLB season without pay following his Twitter rant!!!
Get the details on Steve Clevenger SUSPENDED on the flip…
CelebNSports247.com has learned that Steve Clevenger SUSPENDED without pay after he was caught tweeting a series of insensitive and racially charged tweets on Twitter.
Mariners GM Jerry Dipoto said Friday in a statement announcing the suspension:
“As soon as we became aware of the tweet posted by Steve yesterday we began to examine all of our options in regard to his standing on the team.”
What is really crazy is that the 30-year-old backup catcher, with a career .227 batting average, is hanging on for dear life to his fading baseball career. Though this might be the nail in his careers end.
Steve Clevenger’s apology came too late after his Thursday’s late-night Twitter rant regarding the protests in Charlotte. It was not enough to safe him from getting SUSPENDED. His apology did NOT prevent the Mariners from suspending the injured catcher without pay for the remainder of the 2016 season.
Clevenger’s tweet’s were attacking everyone from the Black Lives Matter movement to President Obama and Colin Kaepernick, who has been kneeling during the National Anthem. Here is what he posted on Twitter:
“Black people beating whites when a thug got shot holding a gun by a black officer haha (expletive) cracks me up! Keep kneeling for the anthem!
“BLM (Black Lives Matter) is pathetic again! Obama you are pathetic once again! Everyone should be locked behind bars like animals!”
In case you didn’t know, Clevenger was out for the season anyway after suffering a broken hand in June. The only change to his recovery is that he is no longer being paid. Hope he’s been saving his coins. NOT!
We all NEED to stop hating on each other, but we see that Trump seems to bring out the racist in everyone. He is that evil whisper in everyone’s ear. Be smart VOTE Hilary Clinton and DUMP TRUMP!
Now, since he ain’t playin’ baseball, Clevenger has until spring training to contemplate deactivating his Twitter account.
And if you’ve been paying attention it appears he has done just that.
