Michael Vick to Joe Mixon: Don't Ruin Your "Opportunity"

Vick said Monday at the Willie Colon Charity Golf Outing benefiting Lupus Research Alliance:

“Joe’s young, man, and he made a mistake. Let’s be honest, you rarely see guys having encounters like that. It should never happen. I would never condone it. I don’t think it’s right at all.

Michael adds:

“But in terms of his football career, if he could go back and think about it before he actually made that gesture toward that girl, he wouldn’t have done it. Not if he knew what he would be dealing with now…He’s an exceptional talent. Other than that, he [wouldn’t] get that opportunity. I think he’s learned from it and hopefully he’s humbled by what’s happened to him.”

He hopes that Joe will be a good role model for kids growing up to see that you can get a second chance with the NFL.

He concluded by saying:

“Kids can use this as an example. Joe got an opportunity because he’s an exceptional talent. Others don’t get that opportunity.”

We will see…
