CelebNSports247.com has just heard that The Washington Wizards swingman Bradley Beal Moving Toward Verbal Agreement on a new long-term contract.

The long-term contract would keep the restricted free agent in the nation’s capital for years to come.

According to The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Beal and the Wizards are “nearing” an agreement on a five-year deal worth $128 million.

ESPN.com’s Marc Stein reported the sides could come to a verbal agreement sometime Friday morning.

He writes:

“Sources say Washington and Bradley Beal have swiftly moved into contract talks and could have deal terms verbally agreed as soon as this AM.”

Beal can’t officially sign his deal until the league’s moratorium is lifted July 7. And that’s key because the order in which the Wizards sign their free agents will have a bearing on how the team approaches other prospective additions.

ESPN.com’s Zach Lowe, weighs in saying:

“Wiz can sign Beal last, keep his lower cap hold on the books, and have about $30M in space to use in between.”

While, Marc Stein noted that having Beal’s deal verbally agreed upon opens other possiblities:

“And then the Wiz can go out and try to make a deal with an Al Horford or a Ryan Anderson or a Nic Batum before making Beal’s deal official.”

Beal’s price tag may seem steep on the surface, considering he’s suffered stress reactions in his leg over the past two seasons, which have forced him to miss 46 games during that span. The former No. 3 overall pick just turned 23 years old Tuesday and still has plenty of room to grow.
