WR Mike Williams

CelebNSports247.com has learned via Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that veteran WR Mike Williams will join the Kansas City Chiefs for the 2016/2017 season.

It was reported that Williams actually worked out for the Bengals a few weeks ago, but they elected to go in a different direction at receiver. Before that, Williams worked out for the Patriots.

Williams, 28, is a former fourth-round pick of the Buccaneers back in 2010. He played out his rookie contract and later signed a six-year extension with the Bucs in July of 2013.

However, he had numerous off-the-field issues that led to the Buccaneers trading him to the Bills less than a year later for a sixth-round pick that later became Robert Herron. Buffalo elected to waive Williams towards the end of the 2014 season.

In 2014, Williams appeared in five games and caught eight passes for 142 yards receiving and a touchdown.

In addition to Wide Receiver Mike Williams KC Chiefs are said to be eyeing to add Laquon Treadwell to the Chiefs, but that is just a NFL prediction thus far. However, it is known that the Chiefs have three potential No. 2 receivers in Albert Wilson, Chris Conley and Rod Streater. What does this mean?

WR Mike Williams Laquon Treadwell

Here is what ArrowheadPride is reporting on The Chiefs and WR Laquon Treadwell falling to the Chiefs 28th pick.

“Kansas City isn’t a downfield-throwing team – QB Alex Smith tied for the shortest average depth of throw in the league last season — so Treadwell is the perfect fit here. Treadwell ran a slow 40 time at his pro day, and that dropped him down many boards, but there’s no denying his size, run-after-catch ability, and knack for coming down with contested catches. The Chiefs will be throwing a lot of slants and fades — routes on which receivers typically don’t get a ton of separation and have to come down with difficult catches — and Treadwell is the man for that job. He’d be a top-10 pick if he were just a bit quicker.”
