Jets RB Khiry Robinson Injured; Redskins S Donte Whitner Out

CelebNSports247.com as the latest report on New York Jets RB Khiry Robinson injured and Redskins S Donte Whitner out.

We just got word that the New York Jets have placed running back Khiry Robinson on injured reserve after he broke his right leg. This is the third time in 13 months.

Kick Off Coverage reports:

During the Jets Saturday game Robinson was injured in his first game back since breaking the leg in the preseason finale at Philadelphia in September. In September Khiry Robinson was waived/injured on Sept. 4 and re-signed with the Jets on Dec. 7.

In 2015, Robinson injured the leg while playing for New Orleans against the Giants. It seems that the break is just not healing properly.

Things are NOT looking good for Khiry Robinson. The Jets also announced Wednesday that they signed running back Brandon Burks from the practice squad and signed tight end M.J. McFarland to the practice squad.

Burks, an undrafted free agent out of Troy, was with Green Bay earlier this season before signing with the Jets two weeks ago. McFarland was signed by Philadelphia as an undrafted free agent out of Texas-El Paso and waived/injured in September.

Next, Washington Redskins strong safety Donte Whitner out with a quadriceps injury!

Washington Redskins starting strong safety Donte Whitner has been placed on the injured reserve. He suffered a quadriceps injury.

Whitner, who started nine of 11 games after signing with Washington in Week 5, was injured in Saturday’s game at Chicago. Donte has a recorded 66 tackles and a forced fumbles, but when it comes to his pass coverage he’s NOT consistent.

With Donte Whitner out on the IR, the Redskins have re-signed Josh Evans. Evans signed with Washington on Oct. 5, the same day as Whitner, but he only appeared in two games this season. He has been exclusively playing special teams, but he was released Oct. 28.

Moreover, Safeties Duke Ihenacho and Will Blackmon have been in rotation with Donte Whitner, but maybe one of them will be bumped up.

In addition, the Redskins have been strengthening their defense, they signed former New England Patriots linebacker Rufus Johnson to their practice squad. The 6-foot-5, 272-pound Johnson appeared in just one game for the Patriots last season. Hopefully he gets on the field in the 2017/18 season.
