CelebnSports247.com reports that the Kansas City Chiefs have made their first big salary cap-related decision.

As first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Chiefs have released starting left tackle Eric Fisher. The former No. 1 overall draft pick in 2013, Fisher will save the Chiefs almost $12 million in salary-cap space for the 2021 season.

Kansas City Chiefs LT Eric Fisher announced he’s been released.

He posted this Tweet:

The Chiefs Followed his post confirming the news:

Fisher appeared in a total of 117 regular-season games for Kansas City, starting 113 of those games. He also has a total of 12 postseason appearances during the course of his career. He suffered a torn Achilles during the AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills this postseason and did not play in Super Bowl LV as a result.

In addition to Fisher, the Chiefs have released his compatriot on the right side, starting RT Mitchell Schwartz, according to Chiefswire.
