Phillies Shopping The Heck Out of Slugger Carlos Santana

A year has already gone by since the Phillies signed slugger Carlos Santana to a three-year, $60 million deal, but it appears they’re already having buyer’s remorse.

Phillies Shopping The Heck Out of Slugger Carlos SantanaCelebNSports247.com reports that the Philadelphia Phillies are shopping slugger Carlos Santana and the Detroit Tigers may be all over it.

According to reports, the Phillies are rumored to be interested in making a number of moves during the offseason in an attempt to upgrade its roster.

The changeup will come with some big ticket players being traded like Carlos Santana and a possible swap between Bryce Harper and Manny Machado, who is a free agent.

First to go is said to be Santana.

Word is, the Phillies are “shopping the hell out of” Santana, so it’s highly likely that he’ll be moved in the coming weeks, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

SportsDaily suggests that this would open first base up for Rhys Hoskins, which leaves a spot in the outfield open, possibly for Harper. So maybe the Phillies are trying to make room for a big-name outfielder.

Meanwhile, Philly.com is already looking toward the future projecting what a contract extension for Phillies ace Aaron Nola might look like.
