Sixers Ben Simmons Done Playing With Joel Embiid!

If you ask the 25-year-old Australian Philadelphia 76ers baller Ben Simmons he feels that playing with Joel Embiid “has run its course.”

CelebnSports247.com reports that Simmons believes the organization’s decision to build its playing style around Joel Embiid is not conducive to the way he wants to play, according to The Athletic’s Sam Amick.

Despite both Doc Rivers and Daryl Morey saying on Monday at Media Day that they would like to have Simmons back with the franchise, Simmons still has a desire to be traded.

According to The Athletic, the trade never came, however. Harden headed for Brooklyn instead, and Simmons — who took the uncertainty in stride and never publicly complained about the role he had unwillingly played in it all — came back to the team that would finish the regular season with the best record in the East before its ill-fated end against Atlanta in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Simmons’s frustration with the team’s decision to build around Embiid and his playing style comes as the duo ranked No. 4 in net rating of pairs who had played at least 1,100 minutes together.

Meanwhile, Embiid echoed a similar sentiment to Rivers and Morey on Monday, saying that he still hopes Simmons returns to Philadelphia.

Embiid said:

Of course, we want him back, he’s a big piece of what we’ve been building the past few years.

Simmons has four years and $147 million remaining on his max contract.

As of Tuesday, Simmons is set to possibly face financial penalties for not attending the Philadelphia 76ers training camp. Ben thought he would have been traded by now.

Let’s not forget that Ben Simmons was looking for houses in Houston not too long ago.
