CeleBNSports247.com has learned that Johnson informed his Tennessee Titans teammates on Monday that he is retiring.

Johnson, who has a net worth of $20 million, is retiring in the middle of his 14th season in the NFL, the franchise announced on Monday.

Titans general manager Jon Robinson said in a statement:

“Going back to his days at the University of Miami, Andre was one of the most impressive wide receivers I’ve scouted. He had a professional approach to the game both on and off the field and in my opinion is one of the best to have played the game. … We wish him nothing but the best moving forward in whatever endeavors he chooses.”

Despite his release after his last off-season and then signed a two-year deal with the Titans in July.

Johnson had nine catches for 85 yards this season, including the game-winning touchdown grab in the Titan’s 16-15 victory over the Detroit Lions in Week 2. The number 81 NFLer is 10th all-time in receiving yardage (14,185) and has hauled in 70 touchdowns in his career. Johnson is the second prominent veteran to retire from football in the last week.

Andre was easily one of the best receivers in the game during his prime with the Houston Texans. He is currently ninth all-time in the NFL with 1,062 receptions and 10th with 14,185 receiving yards.

He is basically going out on top of his game.
