Who do you think the Houston Astros should go with?

They’re looking at two of the biggest bats in baseball to do it. Encarnacion is the easier proposition. He’s going to be a free agent, so the only thing Houston will have to commit with regards to him is the money.

On the other hand, the Detroit Tigers player, Cabrera is quite interesting. The Tigers have indicated they are willing to consider offers for pretty much anyone, even their star first baseman. Cabrera could veto any trade, but he’d be an enormous asset for Houston.

The only challenge is that Cabrera comes with a hefty price tag in terms of players going the other way.

YB reports:

Let’s NOT forget that, The Toronto Blue Jays slugger wants a five-year deal. If he gets the deal he wants then that would cost the team $125 million, according to TSN’s Rick Westhead. They spoke with Encarnacion’s agent.

Encarnacion is coming off a season that saw him hit 42 home runs, including the decisive blow in the AL Wildcard game. He turns 34 in January.
