Danny Tartabull, who played for the New York Yankees from ’84 to ’97 — owes more than $275k in unpaid child support. In 2011, a lawsuit was filed against him for being a deadbeat dad. He violated his probation in 2012 and was ordered to surrender and serve 180 days in jail but never turned himself in. A warrant was issued.

The crazy thing is that the Major League Baseball player is the “most wanted” deadbeat dad in Los Angeles County.

How Danny Tartabull got Stupidly Caught:

Fast forward to now, Tartabull, 54, has been flying under the radar ever since, well until this week. On July 24th, he called police himself to report that his car had been broken into near his apartment in Agoura, CA.

Oops? That’s where he screwed himself and Karma got the best of him. Police ran his name through the system and noticed the active warrant. Tartabull was immediately arrested.

Yes, it was a dumbasssmoment on Tartabull’s part since he’d been hiding from his deadbeat dad case.

What is crazy is that Tartabull should NOT be a deadbeat dad since he was recorded a the AL’s highest paid player in 1992 after signing a 5 year, $27 million deal. On Wednesday, Tartabull’s attorney, Jacob Glucksman, revealed to TMZ Sports that his legal team is working to obtain Danny’s release from custody and settle this matter.

The ex Puerto Rican MLB player is currently worth $14 million.
