This all started when the 21-year-old Los Angeles Dodger’s teammate (Tweeter extraordinaire, Brandon McCarthy) sent this gem after he beat Seinfeld’s favorite team, the Mets, earlier this week. Cody Bellinger was clueless!
Of course, Van Pelt brought the tweet up to the slugger during an interview, and that is when Bellinger dropped a bombshell that he had no idea who Seinfeld is.
Van Pelt asked:
“Do you know who Jerry Seinfeld is?”
Cody responded:
“Not gonna lie to you. I know the name, but I couldn’t put a face to the name. I don’t really know what he does. I’m sorry.”
Van Pelt’s reaction was priceless. No words could describe it, it was all in his look. In all fairners Cody is only 21-years-old and was 3-years-old when Seinfeld ended. It was before his time. Everyone has seen a rerun of Seinfeld, the hit show about nothing that ran from 1989 to 1998?
