CelebNSports247.com just learned about the shocking news that Kevin Ferguson, best known by his in-ring persona as Kimbo Slice had been taken to the hospital near his home in Coral Springs, Fla. in critical condition.

Ferguson’s promoters at Bellator Fighting Championships confirmed his death on Monday.
Bellator president Scott Coker said in a statement:
“We are all shocked and saddened by the devastating and untimely loss of Kimbo Slice, a beloved member of the Bellator family. One of the most popular MMA fighters ever, Kimbo was a charismatic, larger-than-life personality that transcended the sport.”
“Outside of the cage he was a friendly, gentle giant and a devoted family man. His loss leaves us all with extremely heavy hearts, and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Ferguson family and all of Kimbo’s friends, fans, and teammates.”
According to multiple sources, Ferguson died at the hospital despite doctors working to revive the 42-year old fighter after he arrived.
Ferguson rose to fame after a series of street fights went viral on YouTube and his celebrity eventually transitioned into a career in mixed martial arts.
