CelebNSports247.com reports that the MLB informed the A’s of their positive test result at 10 p.m. Saturday night, general manager David Forst told reporters. The positive test came from Friday’s round of testing.

A’s General manager David Forst said:

Our entire traveling party was tested early this morning in Houston at the hotel and today’s game has been postponed.

The A’s are self-isolating in Houston through Sunday night, at least.

As for the A’s final game against the Houston Astros, it’s been postponed. The A’s are scheduled to play a three-game series in Seattle starting Tuesday, but the status of that series is up in the air.

Forst said:

Anything beyond today, we’re not going to speculate on…Ultimately, we need to see if this is an isolated infection or a larger issue. The only way to do that is to be patient, make sure everybody isolates at the hotel, which they’re doing today, and we’ll wait until tomorrow to figure out tomorrow.

Oakland joins the Miami Marlins, St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, and New York Mets as teams who have seen games postponed for positive tests within their organizations.

As of Monday, it is being reported that only one person tested positive for the coronavirus. The rest of the team and traveling crew all came back with negative results.

Before the results came back, Forst said:

The Reds and Mets had positive tests in both cases, they could identify it, isolate people and allow the protocols to be effective, which they were. Nothing spread further. Considering the success in those two scenarios, we’ll take cues from their office and hopefully have the same result, but, like I said, it’s too soon to know if this is isolated right now or if there has been more spread throughout the group.
