Former NFL RB Ray Rice Advocates Domestic Violence Education at AU

We know what you are thinking, “Why is Ray Rice speaking to Alabama football team?”

Before you go there about his domestic violence issue against his GF in 2014, he has turned his life around. These days Ray Rice is an advocate and face of the NFL’s domestic violence issue. Rice objective is to help young athletes avoid the path he took…

CelebNSports247.com reports on Thursday, Alabama head coach Nick Saban informed reporters that former NFL running back Ray Rice was in town to speak with his team regarding interactions with women.

Ray Rice who advocates for women’s safety and how male athletes who are on the come up NEED to avoid the path he took.

Rice became the face of the NFL’s domestic violence issue and never played another down of pro football. Now his objective is to help young athletes avoid the path he took.

Saban told Michael Casagrande of AL.com:

Well, he’s obviously going to talk about how to treat the opposite sex and having the proper respect for other people. And I think that’s important to relationships. It’s important as a person to be able to do those things in a very respectful manner..

Before Ray Rice became an advocate to teach the younger athlete to be “respectful” of women he was playing for the Baltimore Ravens. After he caught on video brutally beating his then-fiancee and then dragged her out of an elevator — he was suspended indefinitely by the NFL and released by the team.

Ever since that fateful night, Rice has shared his story as part of the league’s domestic violence education program.

Saban added:

I think a lot of the players can relate to (Rice’s) circumstance. And it will be interesting to hear a guy that has had issues that now have turned a corner and has really done everything he can to help other people not have the same problem that he has. I have a tremendous amount of respect for him doing that and we’re certainly glad to have him here.

Rice spent six seasons with the Ravens and never received another opportunity to play again after his suspension.
