CelebNSports247.com has just got word that N.Y. Mets star Jeurys Familia just plead not guilty to a domestic violence charge.

If you recall, last week we told you about the 27-year old pitcher was arrested for simple assault on October 31. According to police, Familia “caused bodily injury to another” during an alleged domestic dispute.

Well, this week in court, Jeurys Familia doesn’t see what he did as domestic violence. While facing the judge with his attorney, wife and a translator in Fort Lee Municipal Court he formally entered his plea.

We guess we will all have to see how this plays out. Now, Familia faces up to six months in jail, if convicted.

He’s due back in court in December.

What are your thoughts on this?

In other SPORTS BITES, Richard Sherman is NOT accepting Kaela Carpenter apology!

Kaela is the wife of Bills kicker Dan Carpenter, but the Seattle Seahawks Richard Sherman does give a flying F. Sherman call Kaela’s remarks “ignorant” and bringing up the Ku Klux Klan.

Carpenter’s wife is now insisting her tweet calling Sherman an “animal” and threatening to castrate him was not intended to be racist.

Really Kaela?

Sheramn put her on blast, because she never specifically apologized, she tried to explain that it was just a joke.

On Wednesday, Sherman responded (and he wasn’t laughing):

“It’s not surprising at all. This is a day and age, you’ve got the Ku Klux Klan running around. People say whatever they want, and there’s very little consequence. For her to say something like that and then have a B.S. apology like she did, it’s just the way of the world. I don’t let it bother me. It’s something I’m very used to. It’s just the way people are, the way people were raised.”

Sherman also rails against social media cowards who talk the talk online — but would never say anything to his face.

Thoughts?
