CelebNSports247.com reports that following his arrest on Sunday less than 12 hours after the troubled inside linebacker Reuben Foster was released by the 49ers.
We already reported that the Washington Redskins has signed him but he will NOT be playing.
The SF Chronicle reports:
The reason why is that Reuben Foster was arrested on one count of first-degree misdemeanor domestic-violence battery Saturday night at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay.
Foster, 24, was arrested at 9:10 p.m. local time and booked into Hillsborough County Jail at 11:11 p.m., according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Though, Foster was released Sunday morning on $2,000 bail.
The team announced Foster’s release via a simple and brief statement:
The San Francisco 49ers today announced they are releasing Reuben Foster.
In addition, General manager John Lynch said the team gave Foster clear expectations for his behavior after he was arrested twice in the off-season.
Apparently, Foster is thick headed and NEVER learns his lesson or realized his blessings from the team, so Lynch gave him the axe!
John Lynch explains:
Unfortunately, what transpired yesterday – this isn’t a comment on what happened there because that would be mere speculation on our part. It’s more of a comment of him not living up to what we had communicated. The energy and the time that we’ve invested into him. That doesn’t mean we don’t love him. We all do. We care for him. But we feel like it’s in the best interest of our organization to move on at this point.
We still don’t understand why the Redskins would hire such a violent player that seems to continue to be in trouble with the police.
