Currently, Andrew Bynum is not making a comeback! He last appeared in the NBA during the 2013-14 season with the Cavs and Pacer.

Bynum told TMZ he was retired, and that was where the casual conversation should have stopped. But when hit with a follow-up question about making his own comeback bid, he said:

“I’m not sure. Anything is possible.”

All of that happened with Bynum under the supervision of NBA coaches and trainers. He has been out of the league and out of professional basketball shape for two years. His knees have not suddenly improved. But the physical concerns aren’t even the most important thing.

Bynum does not have his heart in basketball. That’s fine. His passion may lie elsewhere. It’s really hard to be a professional anything and be good at it, though, and that’s if you love what you’re doing every day. This is the same guy who smiled after the Lakers lost a close playoff game on the final possession . He didn’t exactly capture Kobe Bryant’s killer instinct.
