CelebnSports247.com has learned that helmets came flying off when Antonio Brown and Titans defensive back Chris Jackson starting throwing blows.
AB and Jackson were actually brawling on Thursday when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hosted the Tennessee Titans.
The Bucs receiver left practice Thursday morning after getting into it with Titans defensive back Chris Jackson. The Tampa Bay Times’ Rick Stroud reports that Brown ripped Jackson’s helmet off during a one-on-one drill. Brown was agitated after an incompletion in the end zone, telling Jackson “Don’t hold me out here,” according to Stroud. Jackson responded: “Don’t push me in my face.”
That’s when things escalated.
Photos from the scuffle confirmed the report. They also show Brown landing a clean left hook to Jackson’s jaw.
Antonio Brown BOOTED from practice:
While Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians downplayed the incidents, Titans coach Mike Vrabel was more concerned with his offense following Thursday’s joint practice.
Vrabel said, via ESPN’s Jenna Laine [via CBSSports]:
It sucked…From what I saw, we didn’t do very well offensively. I don’t think we competed like we did yesterday. Probably a lot of reasons. But just not good enough. Clearly they were better today. We’ll see how we respond and take to coaching and play on Saturday.
Fortunately for Vrabel’s offense, Arians has already ruled his starters out for Saturday’s preseason game, the second exhibition game for both teams. Instead of playing on Saturday, Arians challenged his team to practice with intensity during Thursday’s scrimmage.
