You might say that Chicago Bears offensive guard Kyle Long apology Tuesday to rookie teammate Jalen Dalton is somewhat remorseful.
Last week Kyle Long went semi-medieval on undrafted rookie Jalen Dalton during practice. Thing got out of control and now Kyle Long has had time to calm down and apologize. Read on…
CelebNSports247.com reports that Chicago Bears offensive guard Kyle Long is trying to make amends after he took off the rookie’s helmet, beat him with it, and then tossed it down the practice field.
On Tuesday, Kyle Long finally spoke out about the incident and is apologizing for his actions.
Long stated that his actions were “absolutely unacceptable.”
The Chicago Bears Titan told Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune:
A momentary lapse of judgment. I cost myself a lot of personal equity. People don’t like to see stuff like that. It does not feel good to be the one that’s responsible for it. I’m trying to take ownership of it and move forward, and all I can do today is show up and be the man that I know that I am and stack those days together.
Long refused to go into detail as to what caused him to rip off Dalton’s helmet, but we are guessing it was blocking him on an interception return?
The lesson is don’t try and steel a veteran ballers thunder or you get hurt.
Bears coach Matt Nagy said:
We’re past it. Now it’s not about talking anymore. . . .It’s showing by your actions, whether that’s being a good football player or being a good person. I always tell my kids, ‘Don’t talk about it. Be about it.’ So it’s time to start being about it.
