Browns Cut DE Chris Smith Less Than Three Months After GFs Death

Browns DE Chris Smith Cut Less Than Three Months after his girlfriend was killed in a roadside accident on a Cleveland highway.

Like we have said dozens of times the NFL is a business machine, long gone are the day of the organization caring about its players.

CelebNSports247.com report that Cleveland Browns reserve defensive end Chris Smith cut by the team despite what happened.

Chris Smith has learned that the National Football League is more of a business than it is a sport that we all used to enjoy.

If you recall, Smith and his girlfriend, Petara Cordero, were pulled over on the side of the highway after Smith’s car had a tire malfunction, causing the vehicle to spin and hit the median. Tragedy would soon strike when Cordero exited the car and was hit by an oncoming vehicle.

Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam said in a statement in September:

Words cannot describe the sorrow we feel for Chris following the loss of his girlfriend, Petara. Our entire organization mourns with Chris, his family and the Cordero family. We will do everything possible to offer them our support, comfort and any resources in this most difficult time.

What is sadder is that Cordero had just given birth to the couple’s daughter in August.

He had posted this beautiful post a month before he lost his girlfriend and mother of his child, Petara Cordero:

Smith, who was in the second season of a three-year, $12 million deal with the Browns, played in nine games this season, recording one tackle and a pass defense.

In Setpember Chris took to social media saying:

God has a plan for all of us we can’t understand but she is in a better place now and she can rest easy. My wifey my best friend and the mother of my beautiful daughter. Love you baby???? #StayStrong????? #RIPMyLove

Chris posted this series of photos of his daughter thanking his family and her family for support:
