CelebnSports247.com reports that Christian Wood did not know it at the time, and hopefully he has learned about SNAKED in the GRASS.

In 2015, Christian Wood is night was only getting started as his then-girlfriend would also break up with him that same night.

The Ringer reports:

On the night of the draft, Wood rented an event space at Caesar’s Palace. He invited a few dozen family and friends. “He was so excited at first,” said former UNLV coach Dave Rice. But Wood watched with horror as his name went uncalled in the first round. It wasn’t called in the second round, either.

Somehow, that wasn’t the end of Wood’s misery. “I lost my girlfriend that night, too,” he said. “I dropped her off at the airport after the draft and never saw her again.”

It all worked out for him in the end after the Houston Rockets inked the big man to a 3-year $41 million contract.

It’s only been two games, but Wood is currently averaging 27.0 PPG and 8.0 RPG in 40.0 MPG for a depleted Rockets squad.
