CelebNSports247.com reports that Red Sox legend completely unloaded on the 34-year-old pitcher for waiting 2 years after the cheating to open his mouth about his former team.
On Thursday, the Boston slugger said:
I’m mad at this guy, the pitcher who came out talking about it,” Ortiz said here at JetBlue Park on Thursday. “And let me tell you why. Oh, after you make your money after you get your ring you decide to talk about it. Why don’t you talk about it during the season when it was going on? Why didn’t you say, ‘I don’t want to be no part of (this)?’ Now you look like a snitch. You know what I mean? Why do you have to talk about it after?
The bottom line is Big Papi is still railroading the guy for not speaking up while it was all going down.
Papi said:
That’s my problem. Why did nobody say anything while it was going on?
Though, Fiers seemed to understand the criticism in all of his interviews.
He said to the San Francisco Chronicle just this week:
I said from the beginning, ‘I’m not away from this.’ I was part of that team, I was one of those guys … Suspensions, fines — I’m willing to take as much punishment as they do. If they ask me to [return the ring], it’s not the end of the world.
IN 2017, Fiers pitched for the 2017 World Series champion Astros. In December 2017, he signed with Detroit. Now, he is a member of the Oakland Athletics.
