According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, it was a short meeting that ended with Dallas releasing the 29-year-old wide receiver.
Ian Rapoport took to Twitter to report the up-to-the-minute news on Dez Bryant being released from the Cowboys.
Rapoport writes:
The #Cowboys have released WR Dez Bryant, source said. It’s done.
He continued:
It was a short meeting between #Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Dez Bryant. After months speculation, Bryant was released and a marquee 29-year old free agent is on the market midway through April with several WR needy teams.
Dez Bryant took to Twitter to let his fans know he’s ready to move on:

Bryant was drafted by the Cowboys in the first round back in 2010. He’s played all eight years of his career in Dallas, hauling in 531 receptions for 7,459 yards and 73 touchdowns.
He’s expected to garner a lot of attention from wide receiver-needy teams. We look forward to him playing again with a new team, and fresh start.
