Minkah Fitzpatrick has been put into a tough spot during training camp and now his mother has come to his defense on social media.
This is why moms are so awesome. Check out what Minkah Fitzpatrick mom did in support of her son who plays for the Miami Dolphins…
CelebNSports247.com has the latest on Miami Dolphins safety Minkah Fitzpatrick mom who responded to a critical tweet from a team beat writer on Wednesday via NJ.com.
Omar Kelly of the Orlando Sun-Sentinel tweeted this about Minkah Fitzpatrick:
I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news, but Minkah Fitzpatrick is not playing well.
Well, Fitzpatrick, mom was NOT PLEASED with the comment so she posted this on social media defending Minkah Fitzpatrick, 22:
No, you would never want to do that maybe it’s because he is not a (strong safety) and is being used to suit other people(‘s) skillset not his own. But you know let’s just keep ripping him because we know it breaks your heart to do that.
Minkah Fitzpatrick told the Herald after practice:
It is what it is. She’s being honest and saying how she feels. There’s nothing wrong with it. I wish she would have addressed me first and talked to me first before it happens, but it is what it is. She feels very strongly … She’s not wrong. Coach has asked me do something right now. I got to do what they ask me to do. If we have to have some discussions in the future, we’ll have those discussions.
Weighing in at 207 pounds, strong safety is not a good fit, but it’s what he’s being asked to do and Fitzpatrick accepts it.
He said, per the Herald:
They don’t expect to win every single snap against a 320-pound tackle. They just want me to do my job. They’re not going to put me in situations where I have to do that every single play. They know where my strengths are.
Minkah continued:
You just got to do it, man. If you resist it, you’re not going to play well. If you think about playing somewhere else, you’re not going to make the most of your position. I’m not 215 pounds, 220 pounds. So playing in the box isn’t best suited for me, but that’s coach is asking me to do. I’m going to go out there and practice my hardest.
Fitzpatrick is entering his second season in the NFL. He had 80 tackles and two interceptions in 16 appearances for the Dolphins.
