Donnie Nelson Sues Dallas Mavericks Over Firing After Reporting Sexual Misconduct!
The relationship between the Dallas Mavericks and their former GM Donnie Nelson is not getting any better. Continue on for more details since Donnie Nelson sues Mavericks…
CelebnSports247.com reports that Nelson has now sued the franchise for firing him, stating that he was fired as retaliation to a sex harassment claim by his nephew against Mark Cuban.
According to reports by ESPN, longtime Dallas Mavericks general manager Donnie Nelson sued the team Thursday, alleging that owner Mark Cuban fired him last summer as retaliation for reporting that Cuban’s chief of staff sexually harassed and sexually assaulted his nephew during a job interview in 2020.
Cuban tried to make the lawsuit go away with an alleged bribe.
The lawsuit also alleges that Cuban offered Nelson, who was fired in June, $52 million to withdraw a wrongful termination claim and sign a confidentiality statement related to the alleged harassment and abuse of his nephew.
As for Cuban, he denied Nelson’s allegations in an email to ESPN.
He wrote:
Everything in that filing is a lie. We did multiple complete investigations and the only person that did not live up to the standards of the Dallas Mavericks was Mr. Nelson. He was fired as a result. He was well aware of the investigation. He refused to fully participate. I will say it again, everything he said is a lie.
My latest for ESPN: Ex-Mavs GM Donnie Nelson sues the team, alleges his firing was retaliation for a sex harassment claim by his nephew against a top Mavs exec & Mark Cuban offered $52 million to buy Nelson’s silence. Cuban: “Everything he said is a lie.” https://t.co/gA3bPvxYLT
