CelebnSports247.com reports that the number one suspect is former Houston LB Zamar Kirven, a former University of Houston linebacker, and he has been charged with capital murder.
The alleged shooting happened at 2 a.m. on Saturday in Mart. Both victims in the case were former Texas high school football players from the area. Sabion Kubitza, 22, played high school football at Riesel. Jacob Ybarra, 20, played high school football at Mart.
According to reports, Zamar Kirven knew both victims from playing high school football together, per McLennan County Sheriff Parnell McNamara.
Kirven was recruited by the University of Houston and played as a linebacker position in 2018 and 2019. The Houston Chronicle reports Kirven was released by the football program in 2020 “due to a violation of team rules.” – KWTX
The motive of the shooting is unclear at this time.
