The reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, Saquon Barkley may have missed three games due to injury for the New York Giants, but tonight Barkley was diesel on the playing field.
During Monday nights game, Barkley showed flashes of what made him so entertaining last season. Tonight he stiff-armed Philadelphia Eagles defender Nate Gerry during Monday Night Football.
Barkley took a handoff and ran to his right, looking to beat the Philadelphia defense to the corner. Standing in his way was Eagles linebacker Nate Gerry. But not for long because Saquon showed Nate who was boss on the field.
Saquan quickly stiff-armed Gerry throwing him to the ground in order to pick up an extra couple of yards on the run.
Barkley had 17 carries for 66 yards in the early stages of the fourth quarter in a game the Giants lead, 17-10. Coming into the game, Barkley had 544 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He also had 38 catches for 291 yards and an additional score.
