CelebNSports247.com has just received word that Cubs second baseman Javier Baez left last night’s Marlins-Cubs game with groin tightness.
The 25-year-old Puerto Rican Javier Baez is said to be undergoing further evaluation today and a decision will be made about putting him on the disabled list.
Accroding to MLB, it is unclear on how Baez hurt himself. He was on defense at the time and the injury occurred on a play in the outfield. Javier was just running over toward short when the ball was out in left field.
Sometimes you just tweak something doing relatively little. Been there done that in the gym and no it was painful and NOT fun. It was embarrassing because I had to walk with a limp for a month until it healed. Luckily it was nothing like Yadier Molina.
Over the weekend, St Louis Cardinals Yadier Molina underwent emergency groin surgery after getting hit by a 102 mph pitch.
Baez is hitting .285/.328/.650 on the season. If he goes on the DL, Tommy LaStella and Ben Zobrist will get most of the reps.
In April, Javier announced that his longtime girlfriend said yes to marriage.
He posted a photo of the himself embracing her baby bump writing:
She Said Yes !!! , Can’t Wait To Spend The Rest Of My Life With You And Our Little One ???? Con La Ayuda De Dios , Con Los Pies En La Tierra y Mi Corazòn En Tus Manos Juntos Alcanzaremos Lo Que Tanto Hemos Ahnelado. El Tiempo De Dios Es Perfecto .
