Earlier this week Jimmy Butler was personally greeted by his new Sixers GM, Elton Brand after he signed with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Goodbye Timberwolves hello Philadelphia 76ers. Jimmy Butler couldn’t be happier to join his new team because he’s part of the starting lineup. Read on…
CelebNSports247.com reports that ex-Timberwolves forward Jimmy Butler was shipped earlier this week to Philadelphia in a blockbuster trade that sent Dario Saric and Robert Covington to Minnesota.
Jimmy Butler will suit up for the Sixers game tonight, Wednesday at 7 pm ET, against the Orlando Magic, and the team has revealed a few changes to its starting lineup.
Rich Hofman, Sixers and Eagles writer for The Athletic writes:
Brett Brown announced that the new starting lineup will be Jimmy Butler, Ben Simmons, JJ Redick, Wilson Chandler, and Joel Embiid, according to The Athletic.
With Dario Saric traded to the Timberwolves, JJ Redick will rotate into his spot, since he’s averaging 17.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists in just more than 31 minutes.
Don’t count Markelle Fultz out though, there could always be some change up in this spot since he has been starting since the beginning of the season in an effort to build his confidence. Plus, Fultz is averaging 9.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.
Why Redick and NOT Fultz in the starting lineup?
Brown says Fultz “has done nothing wrong”: It’s simply about putting the most effective lineup out on the court.
We will see how this works after the game is over and hopefully, Butler’s signing proves to make a win.
For now, Jimmy is just celebrating:
