JR Smith decided to weigh in on the National Anthem blared throughout Quicken Loans Arena. Read on to see what JR has to say…
CelebNSports247.com has learned that JR Smith voiced his feelings on the National Anthem and why he was standing behind all of his Cavaliers’ teammates.
According to JR Smith, he had plenty of reasons for doing so during an open scrimmage on Monday.
Smith weighed in saying this following Friday’s shoot-around:
“I don’t feel like the flag represents what it’s supposed to at this point. We obviously didn’t discuss what we were going to do as a team, and I definitely, I don’t feel, it’s not an easy situation for me with the national anthem.”

He added:
“Especially coming from where I come from, it’s just not. I don’t feel like it’s represented the right way, obviously it’s a tough conversation for everybody, and it still needs to be, I wouldn’t say talked about, because there’s been a lot of conversations about it, it’s time to start doing. What efforts are we going to put toward it?”
This is NOT the first time Smith voiced displeasure, he’s done this several times on social media within the past few months.
