CelebNSports247.com reports that perennial All-Star forward Kevin Durant was asked about New York’s ability to recruit superstars and he did not mince words when speaking his truth.
The problem is that Kevin Durant feels that the Knicks didn’t secure the first overall pick and they struck out terribly in free agency.
During the season, there were heavy rumors that he and Kyrie Irving would be in a Knicks uniform, and he even faced questions about it from the media.
Here is what Durant had to say:
A lot of fans look at the Knicks as a brand and expect these young players who, in their lifetime, don’t remember the Knicks being good (to want to sign). The cool thing right now is not the Knicks.
The Knicks haven’t qualified for the postseason since 2013 and really haven’t been actual title contenders since the late ’90s, probably the early 2000s.
With Durant and Irving on the Nets, the land-scope of basketball in New York has completely changed everything.
