This has been quite the offseason for Ames native Harrison Barnes.

Here is what we’ve just learned:

The Iowan signed a four-year, $94 million contract with the Dallas Mavericks in July. He won himself an Olympic gold medal as a member of Team USA at the 2016 Rio Olympics earlier this month.

And on Saturday, the 24-year-old is a newly engaged man. Barnes popped the question to girlfriend Britt Johnson in Rio Celeste, Costa Rica. – Desmoines Register

Of course, Johnson said yes.
