Mia Molitor’s lawyers issued the following public statement in response to Joe Mixon emotional apology at a Oklahoma press conference.

Mia Molitor lawyers Statement reads as follows:

“Mia Molitor acknowledges the apology and statements made by Joe Mixon today, as well as Mr. Mixon taking full responsibility for what occurred on July 25, 2014. We are optimistic that today’s events will help in the process of obtaining closure for those involved and ultimately in the resolution of all other matters related to that night.”

Mixon broke the victim’s jaw in 2014 after punching her in the face in the early hours of July 25. Mixon was given a one-year delayed sentence as well as having to serve community service for the punch. He was suspended from the team for the 2014 season but returned to play a key role on the last two Oklahoma teams.
