Trout has seven years remaining on the 12-year, $426-million contract extension he signed with the Angels in 2019.
The 32-year-old missed extended time with a hand injury in 2023, appearing in just 82 games. Trout hasn’t played more than 119 games in a season since 2019.
The three-time MVP posted an .858 OPS with 18 home runs and 44 RBIs last season en route to making his 11th All-Star Game.
Trout said in September that he was expecting to have conversations with the Angels about the team’s direction moving forward.
The Angels entered the offseason in a state of uncertainty with the free agency of two-time AL MVP Shohei Ohtani.
Trout has only made the postseason once (2014) during his illustrious 13-year MLB career.
