NFL Wants Raiders to Sign Colin Kaepernick

CelebNSports247.com has learned that NFL recently ruled that the Oakland Raiders complied with the Rooney Rule ahead of the official announcement that Jon Gruden was to be their next head coach.

Sportsnaut has this reports about Colin Kaepernick:

There were reports that Gruden and owner Mark Davis had an understanding he’d be the guy well before the Raiders interviewed USC offensive coordinator Tee Martin and Raiders tight end coach Bobby Johnson. Let’s not forget that there were plenty of eye-rolls during the ruling.

There has been some interesting scuttlebutt on this topic from Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report, who says he’s hearing the league went easy on Oakland because it wants the Raiders to sign Colin Kaepernick — I scratch your back, you scratch my back?

Mike Freeman had this to say about the decision:

“Rumor that I’ve heard (and believe) regarding the Raiders, the Rooney Rule and @Kaepernick7 1/”

“As has been discussed, the Raiders hired Jon Gruden, and many in league believe Raiders didn’t comply with Rooney Rule. 2/ The Fritz Pollard Alliance, a diversity group that works with the NFL on minority hiring practices, said the Raiders violated the rule. The NFL says the Raiders complied. 3/”

He continued:

“Here is the interesting part. I’m told the league office told the Raiders (paraphrasing): we looked out for you on the Rooney rule, now help us by signing Kaepernick, and helping to end the collusion case. 4/”

Though he points out its still a rumor:

“Again, just a rumor, but a believable one, because this is indeed how the league operates. 5/”

He concludes:

“Lots of you scratch my back, homeboy, I’ll scratch yours. The league is a highly political machine and this has become a political issue. 6/”
