CelebnSports247.com reports that Oakland A’s reliever Sergio Romo was checked for “sticky stuff” and might have upstaged Max Scherzer in the process.
Day two of umps checking pitchers for foreign substances, and pitchers are already fed up with it.
Oakland A’s relief pitcher Sergio Romo’s showed his Mexican temper when umpires came at him checking for sticky stuff in his pants while he was on the mound.
Nothing like a hot headed Latino man ready to pull down his pants to prove this is some bullshit!
Sergio, 38, is right there with Max Scherzer, who is sick and tired of being checked by umpires.
Sergio Romo likely did not see his temper tantrum and somehow managed to upstage him by throwing his hat and gloves towards an ump after an inning. Oh yea…he also took off his bet and dropped his pants.
What do you think about the new rule regarding sticky stuff? Are the MLB umpires taking this a bit too far, or should they be going harder?
We look at it like this, if pitchers are dropping pants to prove they have no sticky stuff, then go for it – we find it a bit entertaining right now.
