Donatas Motiejunas hasn’t played on the court since Dec. 31 because of lingering back issues. He has yet to pass a physical by the Pistons’ medical staff, but the team wants him so bad that they’re willing to Overlook Donatas Motiejunas Injury.
Van Gundy said, via the Detroit Free Press:
“You can ask for an extension to go over medical information.”
“We’ve got a lot of doctors involved so we need more time. We need the approval of the other team, with Houston. But we don’t have an answer yet.
“If (the Rockets) don’t give us more time, we’d have to make a decision.”
Detroit are also set to get small forward Marcus Thornton if the deal goes threw.
