CelebnSports247.com reports that the now former Georgia Bulldog James Cook was actually just dealing with the moment and just distracted.

James Cook revealed:

I have a son so he was there. He was the one that was crying in the video. I kind of can’t hear (the) phone call because I was just trying to get my mind off the whole situation, which was waiting for my phone to get called. But you know, for me, this moment right here, it changes life forever.

The Bills used their second-round pick (No. 63 after two trades back on Day 2) to take Cook, who general manager Brandon Beane said is like a wide receiver in how Buffalo will use him. When J.D. McKissic decided to sign back with the Washington Commanders instead of with the Bills in free agency, the Bills have been looking for a similar skill set to add to their offense. Cook will compete with veteran Duke Johnson, who signed in March.

Beane said:

This was a guy that really stood out to us with the ball in his hands. You can split him out, he can run routes similar to a receiver, obviously he’s a good guy to hand the ball to in the backfield.

Bills fans worried about Cook liking where he wound up shouldn’t fret. The 22-year-old, who finished with 11 touchdowns in his final season at Georgia, said that he couldn’t have ended up with a better team that fits who he is as a player.

Cook said:

I ain’t going to lie. During this whole draft process I fell in love with the Bills because they give me a chance to be me. I get to be me when I’m around coach Skip (Kelly Skipper), and that reminds me of my coach at the University of Georgia. That’s why I fell in love with them.

Cook feels like he ended up in the right system and is looking forward to joining his new crew for rookie minicamp in a few weeks.
