Rockets Russell Westbrook “I Own My Mistakes!”

The struggle is REAL when it comes to Russell Westbrook, who had another night to forget Sunday as his Houston Rockets lost 117-109 to the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 2. Read on to hear why Russell Westbrook says he owns his mistakes…

CelebNSports247.com reports that Russell Westbrook, the nine-time All-Star struggled to produce offensively.

Russell Westbrook only managed to get just 10 points on 4-of-15 shooting while committing seven turnovers.

A frustrated Westbrook told reporters postgame, including Ben Golliver of the Washington Post:

It’s on me. I don’t point fingers at anybody else. I own my mistakes. I own what I do and that’s that…

Westbrook coughed up the ball five times in Game 1 and had another seven-turnover performance a week ago in the Rockets’ Game 6 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The 31-year-old has also seen an uptick in usage with the Lakers double-teaming and trapping backcourt mate James Harden more frequently. Westbrook says he needs to find a way to help his co-star in such scenarios.
“Right now, I’m just running around. I gotta look at the film and try to figure out how to be effective,” Westbrook said, according to The Athletic’s Alykhan Bijani.

Westbrook is averaging 15.6 points, 8.2 boards, 4.4 assists, and 4.2 turnovers across five playoff appearances. He’s shooting 39.1% from the field overall and only 16.7% from distance.

We will see how this plays out on Tuesday since Houston and L.A. are tied at one game apiece heading into Game 3.
