CelebNSports247.com caught wind of what ex-NFL star Rodney Harrison for downing Colin Kaepernick standing up for the #BlackLivesMatter movement!
The former Patriots safety went on SportsTalk 790 in Houston — and not only blasted Kaepernick for his National Anthem protest, but says he doesn’t REALLY understand the plight of black Americans because his birth mother is white. But his attack on Kaepernick didn’t stop there. He took it a step further, and this is where Rodney is 100% WRONG!
If you have one parent who is BLACK then you are BLACK. It does NOT matter if both of your parents are BLACK…Being BLACK is something all BLACK Americans have to deal with in this country. If you are half and half it seems to be harder because Whites talk shhh to you and Blacks talk shhh to you, so you don’t win at all. You are STUCK as an outcast on both sides, but Rodney is too ignorant to see that.
His comments on Houston’s SportsTalk 790 were FILLED with racism within his own race, which is even worse, when a man like Colin Kaepernick is using his celebrity to speak for those who can’t! People like Rodney Harrison make us sick, and NOT in a good way!
Here is what he said to Lance Zierlein and Matt Thomas of Houston’s SportsTalk 790 in a bold assertion about Kaepernick:
“I tell you this, I’m a black man. And Colin Kaepernick — he’s not black. He can not understand what I face and what other young black men and black people face, or people of color face, on a every single (day) basis. When you walk in a grocery store, and you might have $2,000 or $3,000 in your pocket and you go up in to a Foot Locker and they’re looking at you like you about to steal something.”
He continued to BASH Colin saying:
“You know, I don’t think he faces those type of things that we face on a daily basis. Kaepernick, 28, was born to a white mother and an African-American father in Wisconsin before being adopted by a white couple.”
After the media weighed in and he received a backlash on social media for attacking Colin Kaepernick…he did like every self loathing hater does.
Harrison just issued a statement on Twitter saying:
“I apologize to anyone that I offended, wasn’t meant to be hurtful to anyone. God bless.”

However, we spoke with him on the phone and he didn’t back down — essentially saying the comments he made on the radio show were his real feelings and he stood by them.
So even after the apology on twitter Harrison still feels this way:
“Colin Kaepernick is not a TRUE black man … because he’s mixed race”
Still, he maintained that Kaepernick doesn’t fully comprehend what he’s protesting:
“I’m not saying he has to be black, but I’m saying, his heart is in the right place, but even with what he’s doing, he still doesn’t understand the injustices as a black man, or people of color, that’s what I’m saying.”
ESPN anchor Sage Steele offered her thoughts in a tweet directly aimed at Harrison:
We agree with Sage Steele. The double standard that some black people think is fair is so backwards and disgusting it sickens us. Why do some black people feel that its cool to support mixed blacks when needed, and then when its something they don’t agree with. They immediately attack saying their not 100% black?
Save us all with the BS Rodney and go back into your retirement. Your 15 minutes is OVER! The worst part of ALL this is that Rodney and Colin are the same complexion.
