Seahawks In Control of Earl Thomas Fate

The Seattle Seahawks and Earl Thomas have been in a bit of a standoff for the past few months and now he’s injured.

Let’s not forget, the Seahawks and safety Earl Thomas have been going through it over his contract, but what does this mean now that he got hurt on the field? Read on…

During Sunday’s Seattle Seahawks 20-17 win over the Arizona Cardinals Earl Thomas suffered a broken leg.

It appears that the Seahawks safety Earl Thomas will be out for the remainder of the 2018 season.

And as everyone already knows, while he was being carted off the field Earl flipped off the Seahawks coaches.

Despite his unappreciative exit off the field, Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell was laughing his @ss off.

Luckily, Earl still has someone in his corner and that is head coach Pete Carroll who is still supportive of the 29-year-old.

Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk reveals that Carroll said:

I know there’s been a lot of talk about it, people that are criticizing whatever happened don’t understand … give him a little slack. This is a very, very difficult moment that most people would never understand what this is about.

Bottom line is that the Seahawks control the fate of Earl Thomas for the rest of the 2018 campaign.

What does this mean for Thomas’ contract?

Either he plays ball their way, or he might be up for a trade. It also puts him in a position where he more than likely will not earn his desired amount he was trying to achieve. The leg break could not have come at a worse time.

It would have been a different story if he had already signed on the dotted line.

Now, we will see if Seahawks have empathy of taking advantage of a man while he’s down?
