CelebnSports247.com reported the Seattle Seahawks made one of the first big blockbuster trades of the NFL offseason by sending quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos.

From there, many wondered who was next. One name brought up quite frequently is wide receiver DK Metcalf, who is due for a new contract after this season.

According to Howard Eskin of 94WIP:

The New York Jets were willing to offer the 10th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft to the Seahawks for Metcalf, but Seattle turned it down. Yes, the very pick that the Jets acquired from the Seahawks for safety Jamal Adams.

Eskin said, h/t 94WIP:

The Jets were going to offer, and Seattle knew it, the No. 10 pick in the fist round. I’v been told by multiple people when somebody calls Seattle about D.K. Metcalf (they said) ‘We’re not trading him. We’re not trading him.’ They don’t even take the offer. They just say ‘Nope’ and they just shut it right down. You can’t even make an offer right now.

Seahawks reportedly turn down 10th overall pick from Jets for Metcalf

It is no secret that the Jets are heavy on the wide receiver trade market. This past month, the team was one of two finalists to acquire Tyreek Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs, but the wide receiver chose to accept a trade to the Miami Dolphins. Hill immediately received a four-year, $120 million contract from Miami.

Meanwhile, The price to extend DK Metcalf continues to increase!

Basically, Metcalf could sign a four year extension and at the end of it he would still be just 29. That means that it is not just possible, but potentially even probable, that Metcalf’s peak still lies in the future.
